Red Ribbon Week!
Please see the attached information on Red Ribbon Week!  The purpose of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug-free lifestyle of Ozaukee County youth. There are several activities that students can participate in and there is list of local discounts you can take advantage of.

Order a Yearbook!

If you have not ordered your JLMS Yearbook yet, please see the attached form.  To place an order, you can return the form with your money, or you can order online.  You may also pick up an order form in the office or in room E-6.  If you do not pre-order a yearbook, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get one in the Spring.

Red Ribbon Dance, Friday, October 11th, 7pm-9pm
Dear Parents and Students,

There will be a Red Ribbon Dance on Friday, October 11th, 7pm-9pm, in honor of Red Ribbon Week!  The PPI Group is featuring Life in a Tree, a band made up of GHS students.  The cost is $1.00 if you wear your Red Ribbon bracelet (which you will receive during Red Ribbon Week) to the dance,  If you don't have the bracelet, the cost is $5.00 to attend.  Please see the flyer for more information.

Halloween Dance Volunteers Needed!

The 7th Grade is again sponsoring the 3rd Annual Halloween Dance and Haunted Room on Wednesday, October 23rd from 7-9pm.  To make this event go smoothly, we need A LOT of volunteers that night. Some of the places we need help are:  Costume scary people in the Haunted room, concessions, dance ticket entrance, Haunted room ticket entrance, and dance/hallway monitors.  Some time slots during the day of Oct 22 and Oct 23 are included to help construct the Haunted Room also.  Please follow the link below if you can help!

The School District of Grafton is working to grow an already strong partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County. This program continues to provide support and encouragement to many of our students through strong, professionally-supported relationships with mentors in the Grafton area.  Please read the attached letter for more information about the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.  If you think your child would benefit from one of the mentoring programs or are interested in learning more about the program, please contact Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County, or contact your child’s school psychologist:

Box Tops for Education


Dear Parents and Students,

Our school is collecting box tops!  During the month of October, we are trying to collect as many as possible. Please have your student bring them to the office and I will mail them in by November 1st.  We will then receive a check in December.  I have attached a form for your use if that makes it easier for you to collect.

John Long's FBLA Chapter (Future Business Leaders of America) is accepting membership forms until November 1st. This is a national student business organization with over 20,000 middle school students involved across the nation. K-6 Developmental League
 is now accepting registrations.  This is a very popular league. Opportunities are on a limited basis and accepted until maximum capacity is reached.

3-8 Fall Fundamentals Clinic Dates: Sept. 29 / Oct. 6 / Oct. 13
This is a free 3-week skills clinic for all boys in grades 3-8. The skills & drills session will last 30-40 minutes and then players will be divided up each night and placed on a team for 3x3 games.  Go to the website at: www.graftonschools.org/boysbasketball for more information.

3-8 Traveling Team Tryout Date: Oct. 20
