The Grafton School District Board of Education has approved a contract for Elizabeth (Liz) Kayzar to be the next principal at John Long Middle School.  Ms. Kayzar is currently an associate principal at Wauwatosa East High School, which was recently named the fourth best high school in the state of Wisconsin by US News and World Report.  Kayzar has taught middle school and high school students in three different Wisconsin school districts.  Ms. Kayzar was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship that afforded her an opportunity to teach in English for three years.  Kayzar is licensed as a principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Director of Special Education.  She has completed five marathons and an Ironman triathlon.  Liz and her husband Josh have a seven-year-old daughter, Blake.

“The Grafton School District is pleased and excited to have Ms. Kayzar join our team of educators.  With her abundant energy, enthusiasm and student-centered approach, she will help the District continue to improve the education of students in our community,” said Dr. Mel Lightner, Superintendent of Schools.  Ms. Kayzar is eager to get her work started, “I can’t wait to meet and interact with our students, staff, and parents.  I am looking forward to joining the talented JLMS staff and working together to continue to improve the quality of education for all learners.”  Although she doesn’t officially start until July 1, Kayzar will be spending several days this spring at JLMS working with staff members to prepare for next year.
