UPCOMING DANCE AT JOHN LONG SPONSORED BY FBLA
Students are invited to come to John Long, on Friday, January 27, for a Hawaiian Luau sponsored by the FBLA Chapter.  The dance is from 7-9 p.m., and the cost is $4 per person. The first 50 people will get a Hawaiian lei to wear and take home.

Come dressed in your favorite Hawaiian outfit.  Grab a grass skirt, a wild Hawaiian shirt and flip flops!  We will have a contest for the best Hawaiian outfit and everyone’s favorite – a Limbo contest.  Concessions will be available to purchase as well as an open gym.

Create your best Hawaiian outfit, but don’t forget the School Dress Code.  See you on Friday, January 27 at 7 p.m.

Information from Mrs. Brady, School Counselor

The Strengthening Families 10-14 Program is an evidence-based program that has shown to increase positive parenting skills and decrease risk factors that lead to alcohol, tobacco, drug use and acting out behaviors by teens. Ozaukee County UW-Extension Family Living Programs and Starting Point of Ozaukee County, in partnership with NAPS are offering a parent, youth, and family opportunity for families with youth who are 10-14 years old.  The family-focused program teaches parenting skills and builds competency skills in youth. The goal of the program is to reduce substance use and behavior problems in youth during their teen years.  In seven two-hour sessions, parents and youth attend separate skill-building groups for the first hour and spend the second hour together in family activities.  A meal will be offered prior to each session, providing conversation opportunities for the families.
