There will be a Bake Sale at the Concert tonight to benefit the Destination ImagiNation Team.  Also available are Raffle tickets for great prizes, and Mother's Day Baskets that can be ordered for $25.00.  Please see the attached flyer!

Destination ImagiNation Fundraisers!
On Saturday, May 12th from 4:00pm - 9:00pm, Little Caesar's Pizza will be donating $1.00 for every pizza sold during that time to the Grafton High School's Destination ImagiNation team.  Please see the attached flyer for more information on that, plus information on other ways you can help the DI team.  Please support the Grafton High School's DI team!!

JLMS Parent Group News

1.  A week from this Friday is 8th Grade Fun Night!  On Friday, May 18th our 8th graders will see a private showing of The Avengers(PG-13).  There will be popcorn, soda, pizza and ice cream for themto feast on and lots of games and activities before or after themovie.  Please fill out the attached flyer so we can get a headcount.  We are still looking for chaperones, so email jlpg@grafton.k12.wi.us if you'd liketo help out.  Cost is $25 ahead of time and $30 at the door.

2.  School Supply Kits for next year are now available to purchase ONLINE!  IMPORTANT:  Please read the attached form carefully as some bonus items are not included in the kits but are required.  They are sold on the Schoolkidzwebsite, at the time you buy your kits, for your convenience.  But they are not included because many parents already have the items or you have to make a choice.  Backpacks and other items are also sold on this websitefor our school (these items are not imprinted with JLMS or our schoollogo),  Check it out!!

3.  We are having a final recycling Fundraiser drive. Please send in any used printer cartridges, old or broken cellphones/laptops/MP3s/GPS/Radar detectors/digital cameras and video cameras/gold-platinum-silver jewelry and we will send it in for cash for our school.

The First Ever JLMS BOGO Book Fair!
The 2012 JLMS Spring Book Fair will be held from Wednesday, May 2, through Friday, May 11, in the JLMS Library Media Center, and in recognition for the generous support from the community over the past few years, this Spring's Book Fair will be a "Buy One, Get One Free" Event.  This will be a perfect opportunity to stock up on summer reads!  Please contact library media specialist Lynn Slowiak with any questions (262-376-5809 or lslowiak@grafton.k12.wi.us) and see the attached flyer for a schedule of dates and times.

Champions Basketball Clinic
On Sunday, May 20th, from 9:00am - 11:00am there will be a basketball clinic for grades 1 through 8 at Grafton High School.  Hannah and Sarah Eichler plus other GHS Basketball Staff will be there to help!

Community Conversation Tuesday May15th, 6-8 pm
Grafton High School has received a grant called Let's Get to Work.  The purpose of this grant is to employ more young adults with significant disabilities in the community.   As part of this grant, they are required to hold a Community Conversation.  A Community Conversation is designed to explore the often-untapped resources, creative ideas, and effective problem-solving strategies that can result when new and diverse perspective come together around a shared challenge or concern.

Grafton Basketball Camps Offered

K-1 & 2-3 Grafton Summer Basketball LeagueSunday nights, May-July.
This will be held at John Long Middle School from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. The cost is $25.00 which will include a team t-shirt.  For more information, see the attached link:

Grafton School District Summer Learning Classes
For the sixth consecutive year the Grafton School District will provide a variety of learning opportunities for ALL children during the summer. The desire of the School District is to provide children with learning opportunities year round, so they may value learning as a life-long endeavor.  The registration forms for the Grafton Summer Learning Program should be mailed back as soon as possible. First priority registration will begin on March 26. Registrations will be accepted until May 18 or until classes are filled. We are all looking forward to a summer of learning!

The mission of the GEF reads, “The Grafton Education Foundation, in partnership with the community, will seek private funding to support and encourage innovative, enriching educational opportunities for students in the School District of Grafton.” Since 2010, the GEF has worked to fulfill its mission and was able to award nearly $12,000 in grants in 2011.
